Feline Travel Combo Ⅴ:
1. Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)
Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus that infects cats, weakening the immune system, causing blood - related disorders, and increasing the risk of cancer, often leading to a shortened lifespan.
2. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a lentivirus that attacks a cat's immune system, similar to HIV in humans, making the cat more vulnerable to various secondary infections and diseases over time.
3. Hepatozoon
Hepatozoon is a protozoan parasite that infects cats, typically through the ingestion of infected prey, and can cause symptoms such as fever, muscle pain, and anemia in affected felines.
4. Leishmania
Leishmania is a protozoan parasite transmitted by sandflies, which can infect cats, causing a range of symptoms including skin lesions, weight loss, and organ damage in severe cases.
5. Heartworms
Heartworms are parasitic nematodes that live in a cat's heart and pulmonary arteries, causing damage to the cardiovascular system, respiratory problems, and potentially leading to heart failure if left untreated.

Clinical Application:

  1. Simultaneous Screening of Major Feline Infectious Diseases
Detects FeLV, FIV, Hepatozoon, Leishmania, and heartworms in a single test, enabling rapid diagnosis of co-infections or single-agent diseases in cats with nonspecific symptoms (e.g., fever, lethargy, weight loss).

  2. Preventive Health Screening for High-Risk Cats
Identifies latent or early infections in outdoor cats, shelter/rescue populations, or cats with exposure to vectors (e.g., mosquitoes, sandflies, ticks) to guide quarantine, treatment, or prophylaxis.

  3. Differential Diagnosis of Clinical Syndromes
Differentiates between FeLV/FIV - related immunosuppression, Hepatozoon - associated muscle pain, Leishmania - linked skin lesions, and heartworm - induced respiratory distress for targeted therapy.

  4. Travel and Import/Export Health Certification
Confirms absence of zoonotic (Leishmania) or region-specific pathogens for cats moving between countries/regions with strict veterinary regulations.

  5. Research and Epidemiological Studies
Tracks prevalence and co-infection patterns in feline populations to inform control strategies and vaccine development.
