Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus Mutation MS02 (FIPV-MS02)/ Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FECV) Nucleic Acid Test Kit (Lyophilized)

This is a PCR nucleic acid detection reagent kit used to detect Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus  Mutation MS02 (FIPV-MS02)/ Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FECV). Real-time PCR technology has the characteristics of fast, sensitive, highly specific, and high accuracy. Utilizing this technology and the FLASHTEST PCR reagent kit can accurately diagnose whether kittens carry Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus  Mutation MS02 (FIPV-MS02)/ Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FECV).

The Feline Infectious Peritonitis Virus  Mutation MS02 (FIPV-MS02)/ Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FECV) nucleic acid detection kit is designed to specifically identify the mutated FIPV - MS02/FECV strain. It typically adopts real - time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. The kit contains primers and probes that are highly complementary to the unique nucleic acid sequences of FIPV - MS02/FECV. When a feline sample, such as Ascites, pleural effusion, is added to the reaction system, the nucleic acid in the sample is first extracted. Then, in the PCR process, the primers bind to the target FIPV - MS02/FECV nucleic acid sequences, and through amplification, the amount of the target nucleic acid is exponentially increased. The probes, which are labeled with fluorescent dyes, can hybridize with the amplified products, generating a fluorescent signal that can be detected and quantified.

Clinical Applications

  • 1. Differential Diagnosis of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)

Accurate identification: Differentiate FIPV - MS02 from FECV. A positive FIPV - MS02 result confirms FIP, aiding in treatment and management. For example, if a cat shows abdominal effusion and tests positive for FIPV - MS02, it supports the FIP diagnosis.

Predict disease course: Early detection of FIPV - MS02 helps predict whether the cat will develop wet or dry FIP, which have different symptoms and prognoses, enabling timely intervention.

  • 2. Infection Control and Prevention in Cat Populations

Segregation: In multi - cat settings like catteries or shelters, isolate FIPV - MS02 - positive cats to prevent virus spread. For instance, a new cat testing positive should be quarantined.

Monitoring: Regular testing helps monitor the prevalence of the two viruses, facilitating preventive measures such as improved hygiene and stress reduction.

  • 3. Research and Vaccine Development

Pathogenesis studies: Identify mutations related to FIPV - MS02 virulence by comparing genetic sequences of detected viruses.

Vaccine evaluation: Assess vaccine efficacy in preventing FIPV - MS02 infection and reducing viral shedding, and monitor the immune response of vaccinated cats.

In the realm of veterinary medicine, few diseases demand as much attention as leptospirosis—a zoonotic bacterial infection that poses a significant threat to both dogs and humans. Endemic worldwide, this disease is transmitted through contact with urine-contaminated water or soil, often leading to severe kidney and liver damage, pulmonary hemorrhage, and even death. Early and accurate diagnosis is critical for effective treatment and preventing transmission. However, traditional diagnostic methods have long posed challenges—until now.
